A Patient Relations Rep assists patients and clinics with inquiries.
A Patient Relations Rep at Community Health Systems, youll play a vital role in supporting our purpose to help people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare, building enduring relationships with our patients, and providing value for the people and communities we serve. Requirements: Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Experience: 2 years experience resolving patient concerns including a general knowledge of insurance billing requirements and account follow-up procedures; or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of general computer applications and practice management systems Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Answers patient inquiries regarding accounts and responds to voicemails within 2 Business Days
Processes received mail within timely manner (2 Business Days)
Processes and posts credit card payments daily in accordance with policy
Verifies insurance coverage as communicated by the patient prior to adding coverage in the Athena software and sets the claim for rebilling
Establishes payment arrangements according to policy(s) as requested
Closes Payment/Deposit batches daily/monthly as requested
Logs calls in Ticketing System for both inbound and outbound calls
