Firetrace is a global manufacturer of life-saving fire suppression devices that has been part of Halma plc (LSE: HLMA) since 2015. Were in the business of protecting lives and livelihoods from the impact of fire. Our fire suppression systems keep businesses, people, and equipment safe by automatically detecting and suppressing fires in high-risk equipment, like CNC machines, vehicles, heavy equipment, electrical cabinets, and wind turbines.
What youll be doing
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Accounting Manager is a critical Finance management team member and the primary owner of general accounting, financial reporting, credit and receivables, inventory, fixed assets, accounts payable, sales tax and payroll activities. This role has high visibility to senior management and will help drive business decisions and observe their impact on the growth of the Company.
A day in your life might include
Manage all aspects of accounting and financial close, including:
Monitor and enhance internal controls
Close of financials and all sub-ledgers in line with established deadlines
Strict adherence to IFRS and Corporate Accounting Manual
Supervise credit control by evaluating the creditworthiness of new and existing customers
Oversee inventory accounting including obsolescence provision and semi-annual physical verification and adjustment
Direct the ongoing capitalization and maintenance of the fixed asset module including capitalized development costs
Establish metrics relative to targets in Accounts Payable that will improve working capital and processing efficiency
Ensure the timely completion of any required sales tax returns
Monitor the processing of bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Train and delegate challenging workload to promote the skill development and career progression of accounting staff
Provide consultation to segment teams and share knowledge and recommendations for financial improvement, efficiency and/or improved control
Meet all established statutory and management reporting guidelines as required by Firetrace and Halma
Plan and coordinate internal and external audits to ensure clean reports
Leverage the Companys ERP system and supplementary tools by analyzing business needs and implementing solutions
Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures
Design KPIs and dashboard tools to support business decisions and maximize Company performance
What we need from you
Ability to be onsite in Scottsdale a minimum of 2-3 days per week or when needed for key meetings, with advance notice.
Ability to tolerate prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to travel occasionally

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive financial experience required, including a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; relevant experience in lieu of degree will be accepted
Financial experience in the manufacturing industry, required
Strong understanding of accounting for inventory in a manufacturing/assembly environment
Proven ability to critically analyze data and business processes, offer recommendations and drive organizational change
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize, delegate and multi-task, as well as adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
Expert analytical, written and oral communication skills
Strong data management and ERP system experience
Commitment to team development and demonstrated leadership and people manager skills
