Primary Responsibilities:
Functional Description
Medical benefit consultant with expertise in understanding all aspects of medical benefit provisions, limits and details
Manages ongoing benefit capture and service delivery for multiple clients with a focus on new business
Builds relationships with internal parties including Surest Client Managers, Surest Implementation Project Managers, and Strategic Client Executives and serves as the primary point of contact for overall benefit administration
Represents clients internally and coordinates with AMT to implement client benefits, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs
Jobs in this function have end-to-end ownership of benefit information for ASO customers for assigned book of business, including engagement in audits as needed
Serves as a liaison between the internal team, the client, consultants, brokers and internal functional areas to ensure accurate delivery of client benefit information
Generates confidence, ensures clarity and understanding of customer benefits
General Profile
Assesses and interprets customer benefit needs and requirements utilizing SPDs, BTB and regulatory guidelines
Identifies options for implementation of non-standard benefits, submits Exception Management requests when required
Assess audience and targets message using relevant terms to meet needs and ensure understanding
Engages in projects related to benefit capture and implementation
Assists in the development of benefit training tools
Engages with Clients to clarify and capture Limits & Details for the assigned book of business

This is a new and evolving role within National Accounts. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will engage in developing relationships and service delivery specific to our clients. As the role progresses, the individual will have the opportunity to take on new challenges, expand their skill set, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and services.
This position will focus on the management and delivery of client specific benefits for a National Account book of business
The individual will engage in developing relationships and service delivery specific to Surest benefits for National Account clients
The position will require relationships with internal benefit strategists, client managers and case installation team members, and others
The position will act as the primary point of contact for benefit-related service delivery and resolution of benefit-related issues
The role requires benefit consultation, understanding of UnitedHealthcare and Surest standards, options, and coordinates with other functions to ensure accurate implementation of benefits in the system
Prior experience in a service role and knowledge of medical benefits is required
Candidate must have a professional demeanor, excellent problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and ability to understand and consult with clients and internal parties on the implementation of benefit plans within UnitedHealthcare and Surest systems
Excellent documentation skills and a quality mindset are required
The individual may be asked to assist in training others to further understanding of the process of benefit collection and implementation
Acts as a consultant to the team, addressing process and benefit specific questions

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED 2+ years of experience working within the healthcare industry 2+ years of experience with regulatory activities and medical benefits Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with summary plan descriptions Experience working with clients, consultants and brokers to craft medical benefit plans To provide stability, a 2-year commitment to remaining in the role is requested All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Groups Telecommuter Policy
The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
