The Patient Access Representative is responsible for scheduling primary and specialty office visits while maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographics and insurance information. This role involves verifying patient eligibility, coordinating insurance benefits, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of healthcare scheduling and insurance processes.
Key Responsibilities: Schedule appointments for primary care and specialty visits in a timely and accurate manner. Provide clear location instructions and ensure patients are informed about visit details. Maintain and update patient demographic information, including address, phone numbers, and other personal details. Verify patient eligibility and obtain accurate insurance benefits for each visit. Coordinate insurance benefits and ensure accurate processing of claims. Act as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance companies to address and resolve any discrepancies. Communicate effectively with patients to confirm appointments, collect necessary information, and provide answers to inquiries. Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy policies (HIPAA), and organizational standards. Assist with administrative tasks, including scanning documents, handling phone calls, and providing support to other team members. Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Commitment to providing exceptional patient service.
