The CDL-A Driver is responsible for the transportation and delivery of products to customers, using a commercial motor vehicle, in a way that meets company's and customer's requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Transport and deliver products in accordance with the established schedule Properly secure loads Operate the truck/trailer units in a safe manner, reporting any vehicle problems and defects to management Deliver orders on time and act in a courteous and professional manner to develop and maintain good customer relations Comply with all Department of Transportation standards and regulations including maintaining a good driving record Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Key Requirements: Must be 21 years of age with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience Valid driver's license for types of vehicles to be driven Over 18,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) requires Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules Knowledge of geographic area Skill in safely operating various types of trucks License not suspended or revoked within previous 5 years per the criteria of 49 CFR 391.15 and/or 383.51 whether in commercial or personal vehicle. No more than: two moving violations; OR two preventable accidents; OR a combination of one moving violation and one preventable accident; within the previous two years No conviction of, or suspension for, DUI or similar offense in past 5 years, whether in commercial or personal vehicle Must pass all Department of Transportation and company tests Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with team members and/or customers Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude. Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
