The Warehouse Loader is a labor-intensive role responsible for hand-building pallets of products for bulk and route trucks. The position requires strict attention to order accuracy when loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming trucks. You will use a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack, working from electronic order systems or order sheets.
Key responsibilities include ensuring accuracy in loading and complying with shipping and receiving documentation. The role involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment, working across varied weather conditions, and adapting to shift durations depending on the workload.
Primary Responsibilities: Truck Loading: Move full pallets of products onto trailers, remove returned pallets, and load bulk truck packages. Raw Material Handling: Unload raw materials and store them in designated warehouse spaces. Pallet Building: Select designated product packages from the warehouse, stack and shrink-wrap pallets, and load them onto trailers for delivery. Customer-Specific Loading: Customize product loading based on salesperson orders for route trucks. Unloading: Unload returned products and pallets/plastic flats from delivery trucks. Physical Requirements: Repeatedly lift cases of product weighing 20-45 lbs. throughout a shift. Continuous standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping are required.
Primary Job Accountabilities:
Operate power pallet jacks or forklifts to pick and load according to load sheets or voice-pick audio equipment.
Mark load tickets for out-of-stock items.
Wrap pallets once the load is complete.
Submit paperwork with orders for verification before loading.
Stage pallets and load into trucks when ready.
Complete partial pallets and store mixed pallets.
Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area.
Ensure regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Basic Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working in a warehouse environment (e.g., order selecting, product storage, staging, using powered pallet jacks/forklifts).
Forklift driving experience (basic operations: forward/reverse driving, lifting/lowering boom, maneuvering in tight spaces).
Experience with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets (pulling/placing pallets on racking systems and trucks).
Teamwork experience (working cooperatively, solving problems together).
