Responsibilities
• Develops positive working relationships with municipal and state elected officials and staff, business and community leaders and other key community stakeholders.
,
• Administers the division's community relations program and serves as the local point of contact for charitable and civic contributions.
,
• Leads the franchise renewal process to maintain an effective operational relationship with communities.
,
• Provides operational support such as responding to emergency situations, town outages, right of way issues, and system integrity issues.
,
• Delivers regulatory and governmental support for regulatory filings, legislative support or other governmental activity.
,
• Serves as a point of contact and coordinates response for escalated customer service issues.
,
• Counsels executive(s) on public policy/public affairs and develops a public relations work plan.
,
• Keeps abreast of events and issues relevant to the division’s service area through monitoring various media communications.
,
• Develops and monitors functional and contributions budget to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
,
• Assists corporate communications in developing, implementing and monitoring communication strategies.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Marketing or a closely related field.
,
• Four years of related experience in the natural gas or related industry, or equivalent.
,
• Ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers on technical or complex concepts.
,
• Ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods.
,
• Basic computer skills for data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks.
