RAYUS Radiology, previously referred to as Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is in need of a Front Office Associate to integrate into our team. The position of Front Office Associate involves duties including delivering services to patients and referral sources by responding to phone calls, scheduling appointments, receiving and enrolling patients with a friendly, professional, and honest attitude, and carrying out any other assigned tasks.
The position calls for a full-time schedule running from 12:30pm to 9:00pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(55%) Registration
Verifies and records demographic data of patients slated for imaging procedures while facilitating payment arrangements for copays and payment plans
Manages phone conversations adeptly and with a welcoming attitude
Fields requests that center associates handle phone calls with appropriateness
Functions as a bridge between the technologists and the patients awaiting exams, sharing notifications about the scanner's status and any other pertinent clinic information
Keeps the front office lobby neat by straightening magazines, sorting coffee materials, and helping with general office cleaning
Acquires office resources on an as-needed basis
Oversees the availability of informational pamphlets for patients
Endorses the use of electronic interfaces to showcase visual content
Concludes confirmation calls while issuing preparation guidance to patients
Delivers reports, billing information, and medical release forms through fax upon demand
(20%) Insurance
Verifies patient's insurance
Validates all exams in advance with the patient's insurance company
Obtains insurance authorization
Applying knowledge of insurance companies, including Medicare, to facilitate the acquisition of waivers for authorization ahead of scheduled appointments
Facilitates the release of information requests for patients, referring offices, medical institutions, legal representatives, and insurance providers in adherence to company regulations
(20%) Scheduling
Manages transportation, interpreters, and hotel arrangements for patients as required
Enters and processes orders for patient exams promptly
Validates that orders are synchronized with the timing of examinations
Coordinates referrals and confirms the acquisition of the required permissions
Schedules walk-in patients
Coordinates the fulfillment of requests for image orders and CDs submitted by referring physicians and patients
Maintains an exact and current record of referring physicians in the database
(5%) Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required:
A high school diploma or a comparable credential must be obtained
Familiarity with the functions of Microsoft Office tools is beneficial for productivity and communication
Possessing a background in customer service for a period of 1-2 years
Adept at working with computer applications and word processing
Preferred:
History of employment in a medical clinic
Competency in medical vocabulary and a history of working in medical office settings are valuable qualifications for this job
