Senior Data Analyst

The Senior Data Analyst will play a critical role in leading data interpretation and analysis to support data-driven decision-making within the district. This individual will apply advanced statistical techniques to analyze results and present insights in a clear, effective manner. The Senior Data Analyst will ensure a strong understanding of state accountability standards and their precise application. They will bring hands-on experience in advanced data analytics and possess strong quantitative skills to drive meaningful insights for organizational improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data science, or related field preferred; Master's degree highly preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience in data analytics, reporting, and visualizations
Strong knowledge of and experience with SQL querying, Visual Studio computer programming packages, and data reporting (PowerBI preferred)
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, etc.)

Expert ability to understand and interpret rules, formulas, and policies aligned to the state accountability system
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Advanced demonstrated skills in working with complex details
Strong ability to navigate complex and ambiguous processes to identify and implement the most effective approach for achieving desired outcomes
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
I. INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
Work collaboratively with the Director of Analytics and Accountability to determine data analytics best practices and visualization approaches.
Responsible for the psychometric analyses of district assessments.
Assist with creation of best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization.
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code issues/problems.
Interpret data, identify trends, and analyze results using statistical techniques and analyses of complex datasets.
Prepare reports and presentations for the senior leadership team and the Board of Trustees that effectively display pertinent information.
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Responsible for execution and maintenance of the Visual Studio process of determining A-F accountability projections.
Collaboratively design and create new reports while maintaining existing reports on the AISD Reports site utilizing PowerBI.
Provide assistance and training to campus and district staff in the areas of analytical interpretations, AISD reports site, and the state accountability system.
II. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION CLIMATE
Attend and participate in any district-level meetings and committees when invited.
Ensure completion of systems of communication that provide guidelines, services, and support to department, campus, and district staff.
Exemplify effective problem-solving methods that are customer-service oriented.
Assist with the execution of department tasks related to analytics and accountability.
III. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT
Review, evaluate, and interpret state accountability rules to assist the Director of Analytics and Accountability with information related to new regulations.
Work directly with the Analytics and Accountability team to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships.
IV. SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Participate as an influential team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
Willingly assist with projects that support informed decision-making and respond to staff inquiries, ensuring a friendly, efficient, and collaborative approach to school community relations.
V. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Establish ongoing goals for professional learning to remain current in innovative and effective statistical and analytical methods.
Maintain a network of professional colleagues and membership in professional associations and stay current on analytics and accountability trends.
Identify new methods in the areas of analytics to support decisions and applies new knowledge and skills to improve programming, campus support, and district operations.
VI. MISCELLANEOUS
Serve as the backup to the Director of Analytics and Accountability in their absence.
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Analytics and Accountability.
Travel district-wide.
