Cook III is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner. The Cook III must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment, while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively. The Cook III must be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace and follow all safety procedures.

Qualifications

Job Duties:
• Responsible for the daily preparation of food items.
• Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.
• Proficient at Garde Manager and Hot Apps station.
• Conduct line checks prior to service & fills out station inventory at end of service.
• Manages and maintains relevant prep & par levels.
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation & organizational skills.
• Ensure quality and safety of food by perfomring standar and any additional sanitary measures including sweeping the floors, cleaning of surfaces, as well as proper covering and storage of food items according to standards and procedures.
• Stay productive at all times and prepare for future needs as time allows.
• Respond in a positive and timely manner to all requests and feedback.
• Uphold a safe working enviroment.
• Contribute to positively impacting the morale of the kitchen staff.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Culinary training preferred and Food Handlers Certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience high-quality cooking with fresh, flavor infused recipes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation required.
• Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation and safe food handling required.
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
• Highly effective communicator with teamwork skills.
• Superior time management skills, multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem identification and resolution skills.

Working Conditions:
• This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
• Occassional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water.
• Must be able to grasp, lift and/or carry or push/pull to transport goods up to 50 pounds on occassion, and up to 35 pounds regularly.
• Manual dexterity required to use knives and kitchen appliances.
