Job Description:
Job Summary
Internal Advisor and subject matter expert for Southwests Senior Leaders across all aspects of executive compensation. Delivers guidance, consultation, analysis and advice on the assessment and design of executive compensation plans, which includes providing direction to other Analysts and Associates, serving as a subject matter expert on projects, and developing and/or reviewing presentations that include meaningful conclusions for review by Senior Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
Manage the analysis and administration of Companywide short-term incentive programs by creating models and forecasts; calculating quarterly accruals and annual payouts; and preparing plan documentation, summaries, and statements
Prepare Compensation Committee materials for Senior Management including, but not limited to, agendas, calendars, presentations, analyses, and recommendations
Collaborate with Legal, Financial Reporting and Internal Audit departments on all matters related to Proxy reporting and Compensation Committee governance
Execute all transactions for stock plan administration between the Company and the external record keeper. Maintain documentation and ongoing analysis of stock plan reserves and in cooperation with Legal, make appropriate recommendations as to Plan authorized limits. Manage relationship with external record keeper to ensure alignment with communication and engagement activities for equity plan participants.
Review and analysis of materials prepared by External Executive Compensation Consultant
Develop, enhance, and maintain the design, operation, administration, and governance of Southwest's executive compensation programs
Develop and deliver regular executive communication and education that provides valuable insight into compensation initiatives, status of incentive compensation plans, and dependencies of compensation on Company performance
Counsel new SMC executives on all elements of executive compensation
Draft and distribute communication of compensation messaging and announcements regarding annual salary and merit planning, routine compensation analyses, incentive programs, and other compensation related content
Conduct analysis of external market data to support compensation practices and recommendations for executive remuneration
Initiate and develop strong business relationships throughout the organization to consult on program initiatives, gain insight and identify opportunities for education and engagement with executives
Keep informed of trends in executive compensation and advise Senior Leadership as needed on marketplace and regulatory developments and their applicability to ensure competitive market positioning in line with marketplace trends and internal budgetary consideration

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules
Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data, including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among unrelated events)
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Expert level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in:
Compensation plans, executive compensation and SEC reporting, long term incentive plan administration, taxation of current and deferred executive compensation
Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $128,350 - $142,600 per year * depending on qualifications and experience.
For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
