Data Analyst Sr. - Catastrophe Modeling

As a senior or lead data analyst on the Commercial Lines Risk Group, youll be part of a new team responsible for creating analyses and advising senior leadership on the broad risks associated with our established businesses and the expansion into new areas, such as Business Owner's Policy (BOP) and Transportation/Delivery Network Companies (TNC/DNC). Youll analyze Property Catastrophe (CAT) modeling output and translate into meaningful stories and advice, applied to exposure management and CAT reinsurance purchases. In this role, youll work in the broad area of financial modeling, Dynamic Financial Analysis (DFA), developing stochastic simulation models with application to Combined Ratio (CR) Targeting, Reasonable Worst-Case (RWC) evaluations and Reinsurance purchases. Additionally, youll focus on ceded reinsurance projects, collaborating with the Corporate Risk and Reinsurance group and external reinsurance brokers.
Remote work allowed with travel to Mayfield Village, OH required.
Must-have qualifications
A minimum of six years of analytical work experience.
{OR} Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of five years of analytical work experience.
OR} Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study and a minimum of three years analytical work experience.
Preferred skills
Experience in the Property and Casualty industry to include understanding of insurance operations
Proficiency with coding (R or Python and SQL) and statistical modeling
Knowledge of ceded reinsurance
Understanding of how to use data to drive decisions, provide insights, and be able to present those insights in a meaningful way
Comfortable with open-ended problem-solving, along with close collaboration with supervisors to ensure project success.
Compensation
$79,200 - $130,000/year depending on position level
Gainshare bonus up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance and position level
