About the role:
We have multiple Lead UX Designer roles within our Guest UX (GUX) team that put you at the forefront of Targets evolving digital experienceshaping the way millions of guests interact with Target every day across web, mobile, and app platforms. From deepening relationships through loyalty programs and personalized messaging to evolving advertising and monetization experiences, Guest UX plays a critical role in delivering value to our guests and driving business growth.
As a Lead UX Designer, youll help define experience strategy, drive complex initiatives forward, and ensure every solution delivers both for the guest and the business. Youll collaborate deeply across product, engineering, and marketing partners, while mentoring other designers and advocating for best-in-class user-centered design.
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Targets needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team members core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Responsibilities: Develop and contribute to UX strategy and vision for product experiences across digital platforms influencing investment, collaborations, and the balance of new vs. Iteration Leverage your influence to champion user-centric outcomes within and across product experiences Effectively facilitate multiple cross functional working teams and collaborate across multiple design and product teams Produce high-quality design deliverables throughout the process, including journey maps, wireframes, user flows, UI design, and prototypes Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering growth in craft and critical thinking. Investigate using both qualitative and quantitative research methods Set a high standard for design craftensuring accessibility, usability, clear information architecture, thoughtful interaction design, and polished visual execution Promote and advance a culture of human-centered design across UX, product, and engineering Build a network of relationships to enable your vision in service of enterprise experiences and tools and Target as a whole
About you:
7+ years' experience as a product designer with a strong portfolio showcasing successful product design work
You thrive at the intersection of design strategy, scaled solutions, and craft
Expert skills in UX and product design, as well as structuring and planning work, and owning the design process
Advanced proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
Advanced strategic problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration skills
Proven ability to effectively use data and insights to set your direction and communicate your approach
Skilled at balancing near-term delivery with long-term vision
You are an expert in communicating how design connects to, serves, and improves business outcomes
Comfortable exploring and using emerging AI-powered tools to support the design process, with curiosity around its evolving role in UX practice
Exhibit a growth mindset and a passion for evolving your practice and the broader UX discipline
