- What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Handle incoming communication and online requests from patients and referring providers for appointment scheduling
- Document patient demographic, medical, financial, and referral information accurately in compliance with established procedures
- Answer telephone calls, providing professional and courteous customer service while triaging calls and taking detailed messages
- Ensure all necessary patient information is obtained prior to appointments and that medical records are accessible to healthcare providers
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines in all communications and documentation
- What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- 0-1 year of customer service experience in a contact/call center environment
- 0-1 year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle a high volume of calls
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team skills
- How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with Epic software
- Experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Knowledge of insurance stipulations affecting appointment scheduling
- Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills
- Ability to exercise judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information
