Role Description:
Are you thinking about moving from your current position as a Court Reporter to a Digital Reporter? In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing civil litigation proceedings and recording all content, including witness testimonies, using digital tools.
- The Digital Reporter is responsible for:
- Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
- Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties.
- Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.
- Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.
- Performing thorough research and validating data across multiple sources.
- Proficiently utilizing digital databases and online research tools.
- Qualifications:
- State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it.
- Must possess or be able to obtain certification or state licensure (where required).
- Willing to learn or already knowledgeable about U.S. civil proceedings.
- Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment.
- Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings.
- Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.
- Proficient with technology, including strong keyboard skills.
- Professional conduct, dependability, punctuality, and appearance.
- Openness to working as an independent contractor.
- Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required.
- Willing to work both remotely and in person.
